Here are the entrances to both of the Zoo's, both being very differnt in style, Central Park Zoo entrance being traditional in style and the Bronx Zoo entrance much more contemporary.

Here is a drawing of a giraffe i did using mixed media...Iam pleased with the outcome of this realistic drawing but i have also started to experiment with drawing animals in a much more simplier form which i think will also look great and fit with the theme of Kid's Interior just as well. :)

Hi Guys!

My ideas's have developed so much since last time i blogged! Whilst researching into New York signs i came across these realy cute signs which lead me to Central Park Zoo in NYC!

I have been researching onto the Zoo and iam excited about all the ideas that i have brewing :) This idea is a perfect companion to my architectural collection...at the moment iam thinking my architectural, All American collection is aimed at 12 years plus and my Zoo collection for younger children. I have started to draw and design from my Central Park Zoo research and whilst doing so came across another Zoo in America which is bigger and has more animlas, this being Bronx Zoo!

American Dollars!!

I thinking of incorporating American Dollar imagery  into my design work...i may use the imagery to collage with  along with the american maps, i think the two will look great together ...this collection is definatly going to be  "All American!" :)

Tommorow im going  to spend the day cracking on with my design sheets and putting all my ideas onto paper... it will be a busy day :)

Blogg soon x

Im going to incorporate maps of America into my next design work, the colours and details are great and are fab to collage with. Im also going to experimant by adding my own design work into the shape of the american map :) Im excited to put my ideas into practice!

Hiya guy's....im finally back into Uni mode and loving it! Im still very passionate about my New York theme but im broadening my theme so im able to look at other areas of America other than just New York, this way i will have far more things to inspire my design work. Here is a line drawing i did of a New York taxi cab and Taxi sign...it is nearly finished i just need to add the black and white squares to the Taxi motif then it will look truly American :)

Due to me changing my proposal in this semester and not only working from New York inspired research  im thinking of changing  the title of my collection to "Stars & Stripe's" as this title does not restrict my design work and ables me to research the whole of America!

During my last tutorial me and my tutor discussed how i  needed to broaden my research to get a deeper, broader understanding of my theme which would result in a wider more meaningful end body of work. One of the subjects i m going to look at is that of Broadway! Even just at a glance i can see Broadway is vibrant, exciting and colourful, being perfect to incorporate into my contemporary, bold interior design work..... :)

Hi... since last time i blogged , i have handed in my Semester 1 Assignment and got my results which i am happy with :) All the hard work payed off!

Before handing in my work i had a tutorial with my Tutors about my final outcomes, during this i more or less decided i would drop my French theme and concentrate more on my New York Collection as it was much stronger, also thinking about steering my work towards teenage/young adult  clientele.

Last week I visited Interiors UK at the NEC in Birmingham. The show was great, it was interesting to see that there was quiet alot of American inspired artwork/wallart aswell as geometric, aztec, tribal based designs on fabrics and interior products. This is evidence that the themes I have choosen are on on trend at the moment :)
